“Sweeney Todd” at NENA Productions Theater Project

“Sweeney Todd”
Music & Lyrics by Stephen Sondheim
Book by Hugh Wheeler
Based on the story by Christopher Bond

In Sweeney Todd, Stephen Sondheim created the quintessential comic/horror musical. Sweeney Todd tells the infamous English tale of the unjustly exiled barber who returns to 19th Century London seeking revenge against the lecherous judge who framed and ravished his young wife. His thirst for blood soon expands to include his unfortunate customers. With the help of the resourceful proprietress of the pie shop downstairs, the people of London begin lining up in droves for her new, mysterious MEAT PIE recipe!!!
