Mr. Green, an elderly retired widower wanders into traffic on Manhattan’s Upper West Side and is almost hit by a car driven by a rising young corporate executive. Ross, the young man, is charged with reckless driving, and is given a community service sentence of helping Mr. Green once a week for six months. The play follows the two men’s growing and changing relationship over several months beginning with the first of these weekly visits. A comic clash of cultures becomes gripping drama as the unlikely partners force each other to re-examine their lives and beliefs.
