“I'm Not Rappaport” at Westfield Community Players

“I'm Not Rappaport”
by Herb Gardner

Just when you thought there would never be another joyous, laugh-filled comedy, along comes this delightful 1986 Tony Award winning play. Set in a secluded spot in Manhattan's Central Park, two octogenarians are determined to fight off all attempts to put them out to pasture. Nat is a lifelong radical constantly fighting injustice (real or imagined), who creates eccentric personas. The other half of this unconventional partnership is Midge, a Black apartment super who spends his days in the park hiding from tenants who want him to retire. Together, they relive their glory years and dream the dreams of younger men again.
