“The Arabian Nights” at Circle Players

“The Arabian Nights”
by Mary Zimmerman

The great civilization which once bloomed in Iraq has left us with these stories as witness. A fascinating evening of adult story telling -- which may not be suitable for young children -- based on Scheherazade's tales of 1,001 Arabian nights. Hilarious, earthy, erotic and romantic, these stories enchantingly illustrate how the magic of storytelling holds the power to change people. The play reminds us of the plight of modern-day Iraq, whose rich culture and history are threatened by war.
