A drama in verse - A newly elected Pope, from Sudan, arrives in Rome but is arrested as soon as he gets off the plane. Placed in an insane asylum, the Pope is in interrogated by an ancient cardinal who seeks to protect his dark plot to save the Church. Inspired by the Dostoevski story of the same name, the play explores many of the issues dividing the Roman Catholic Church today.
