“Bye, Bye Birdie” at Villagers Theatre

“Bye, Bye Birdie”
Music by Charles Strouse
Lyrics by Lee Adams
Book by Michael Stewart

Life is about to change for one lucky girl in Sweet Apple, Ohio. Super-star heart throb Conrad Birdie is going into the Army. But before he does, he’s coming to Ohio to bestow “One Last Kiss” upon Kim MacAfee. This classic Tony Award-winning musical is a paean to a simpler time in America when kids hung out at the malt shop on the corner and Ed Sullivan was on every Sunday night. Put On a Happy Face, A Lot of Livin’ To Do, Kids and the title song are just a few of the beloved tunes by Strouse and Adams. It’s hard to top BYE BYE BIRDIE for sheer joy, wit, and fun!
