Marilyn Roberts is delighted to be a member of the New Jersey Repertory company. No newcomer to the development of new theatre, Marilyn was an original leading member of the La Mama Troupe appearing in productions by such (new) playwrights as Leonard Melfi, Paul Foster, Rochelle Owens, and Sam Sheppard. She co-founded the searingly funny Heather Company in September, 1987, after the title character in her one-act Heather McKay, a self-styled "subway performer" who speaks to and for our times. The Heather Company is an original, socially-conscious troupe, appearing at La Mama and various clubs producing new shows. She worked extensively with Tom O'Horgan and Joseph Papp, performing frequently on stage in New York and Los ANgeles. She guest starred on The Mary Tyler Moore Show, and was seen in the films Looking for Mr. Goodbar and Futz (repeating her role from the original off-Broadway production. Marilyn holds a BA in theater from San Francisco State University.
