celebrated the written word since her childhood in Edison, NJ, where she and a group of friends produced a chapbook, REFLECTIONS, and a student film called THE BOX which parodied such Seventies subjects as the Loud Family and Monty Python's Flying Circus. Her play, THE ROCKING CHAIR, was performed at Drew University. A member of Montclair's Tunnel Vision Writers' Group, she has been a featured poet in the collaborative NO WORD FOR INHUMANITY Exhibit‑Performance at The Kent Place School, Summit, and Bloomfield College. She has also been a featured poet at the JCCF of Metropolitan, NJ, and the Montclair Public Library. She is a volunteer with the Montclair Writers Room, the Valerie Fund and the Special Olympics, and has judged writing competitions for children and adults. A Montclair resident, Laurie is a senior publicist and adjunct professor at Seton Hall University, where she received a Master of Arts degree in Corporate and Public Communication.
