Jo Ellen is a current voice major at Carnegie Mellon in Pittsburgh. Favorite roles include "Sr. Mary Leo" in Nunsense at the Thompson Park Theater Barn, "Mabel" in Pirates of Penzance , "Bet" in Oliver, and "Velma" in West Side Story, all at Sayreville Main Street. Jo Ellen played several roles at Middletown High School South, where she graduated in 1999. These roles include "Adelaide" in Guys and Dolls, "Marian" in The Music Man, "Goody Proctor" in The Crucible, and "Hodel" in Fiddler on the Roof. She was recently nominated for a R.E.C.T. award for her role in Pirates, and won both the All-Shore Chorus and the Monmouth Civic Chorus scholarship last year. Jo Ellen hopes to become the best performer she can be and one day make it to Broadway. Much thanks to God, SMSTC, MCPS, CMU, and her parents for their love and support.
