last appeared at Paper Mill as Mamita in Gigi. But she first came to fame as a teenager in London, when she starred in the original production of The Boy Friend, creating the part of Polly Browne. She first came to America to play Eliza Doolittle in My Fair Lady in LA and Chicago, where she won the coveted Sarah Siddons Award. She has since starred on Broadway in Half a Sixpence, Walking Happy, and 42nd Street; and in London’s West End in My Fair Lady; No, No, Nanette; She Loves Me; and I Do, I Do. On television she made her debut opposite Charlton Heston in “Elizabeth and Essex,” in cabaret she has played London’s Savoy and Dorchester hotels, and her recording of The Sound of Music sold over a million copies. She has just guested on TV in “Beverly Hills 90210,” and she is the voice of Mrs. Potts on the new Disney video Beauty and the Beast. Her favorite roles are Eliza and Blanche Dubois in A Streetcar Named Desire.
