Joyce Carol Oates Biography

is the author of a number of plays including the recent CRY ME A RIVER, produced in Cambridge, MA; THE ECLIPSE, produced in Stockholm, Sweden; and I STAND BEFORE YOU NAKED, produced in Los Angeles, Mt. Holyoke, and Paris, France. Plays of hers have been performed at the Humana Festival in Louisville, the McCarter Theatre in Princeton, and the Ensemble Studio Theatre in New York. Her novel BLACK WATER was recently adapted as an opera, with music by John Duffy, produced by the American Music Theater Festival in Philadelphia. Her plays have been collected in two volumes: TWELVE PLAYS (Dutton) and THE PERFECTIONIST AND OTHER PLAYS (Ecco).
