Kate Herman Biography

has spent the last fifteen years raising two daughters and designing hats and clothes under her trade name Etak. In the last few years, she designed costumes for the American Chamber Opera's production of DORA, Jim Glossman's WAITING FOR GODOT and MACBETH (both at Luna) and Bond Street Theater's 1997 and 98 Traveling Stilt Band Show. She teaches costume design at St. Ann's school in Brooklyn, N.Y., and runs costume workshops at the West Kortight Centre in upstate New York. Her work has received national editorial recognition in publications including the New York Times, New York Magazine, Parents, Child and Family Circle.
